The Los Angeles Rams made a splash earlier this offseason when they signed Davante Adams to a two-year, $46 million contract at the start of free agency.

Adams is one of the best wide receivers of his generation and a surefire Hall of Famer whenever he decides to step away from football. Although he was plagued by injuries last year, Adams still has a lot left in the tank and should give the Rams the big playmaker threat they were looking for.

The 32-year-old has caught passes from Aaron Rodgers for the better part of his career and now will get to work with another respected veteran in Matthew Stafford.

During an appearance on the “Mina Kimes Show,” former NFL safety Ryan Clark relayed that Adams is already comparing Stafford to Rodgers in his prime:

“He told me something that really stood out. He said, ‘I got to play with an older Aaron.’ He’s like, ‘Matthew has that type of stuff still in his arm.’ And we’re talking about the Aaron Rodgers that was able to come back and win two MVPs. He’s like, ‘Matthew’s still got it.’ He’s like, ‘That reminds me of that.’ … And he said he also has this level of competitiveness to him that you still see at practice without a-hole to it. And that really sparked my interest.”

Stafford and Rodgers are similar in that they aren’t very mobile, but two of the most accurate passers with a desire to win at all costs.

Adams has only been with the Rams for a couple of months, but he is already feeling rejuvenated as he enters his eighth NFL season.

Davante Adams discusses what makes Matthew Stafford special

During OTAs, Davante Adams gave his opinion on what makes Matthew Stafford one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL.

“He doesn’t care what that coverage says,” Adams said. “If they’re not playing that coverage right, you might still get the ball. So everybody at all times has got to make sure… it’s never just for the love of the game.

“I’m sure everybody’s heard of those routes where you’re kind of designed to clear out or maybe, based on a certain coverage, you’ll be eliminated. That isn’t how he rolls. You’ve got to be a dog to do that. You’ve got to have a lot of confidence in your arm, in who’s across from you, who you’re throwing the ball to, all of that.”
