Davante Adams tees off on DeSean Jackson over comments he’s unhappy with Raiders

Davante Adams hears the noise, but the Las Vegas Raiders star wide receiver typically doesn't say much in response. However, a recent comment from former NFL wideout DeSean Jackson on "The Herd with Colin Cowherd" was enough to draw strong pushback from the 31-year-old.

Jackson recently told Cowherd that he had spoken to Adams and that the wideout wasn't happy being with the Raiders. On Wednesday, Adams not only pushed back on that but also called out Jackson for the statement, as The Athletic's Vic Tafur revealed.

"The facts are the facts, and that is not a fact. I’ve probably spoken to DeSean Jackson maybe three or four times in my life, and I never had a conversation with him ever ..." Adams said. "I’ve never spoken to him about anything. The only person I really talk to about my feelings in general is my wife probably, and she ain’t out there leaking anything and dropping stuff like that in the media."

"Once again, whatever you see, if it ain’t from the horse’s mouth, it’s probably bull—."

Adams stated that he typically doesn't pay much attention to what people say and avoids "feeding into it" by not responding to rumors or false narratives.

"Whatever has been put out there lately is complete BS ... In terms of me being upset or not being happy in this organization is just a bunch of BS that’s just meant to throw everybody off and get clickbait. ... 'He’s p—off in Vegas.' If I was p— off, I wouldn’t be here right now," Adams added.

Although Adams typically avoids addressing this type of comment, he chose an excellent time to publicly respond to it. The Raiders are set to kick off the 2024 NFL season with a road matchup against the AFC West rival Los Angeles Chargers in Week 1 on Sunday afternoon.

The Raiders are led by new head coach Antonio Pierce, who stepped in as the interim head coach last season after the franchise parted ways with Josh McDaniels and went 5-4 in that role. Adams will have a new quarterback this season as well, with Gardner Minshew being named the starter over Aidan O'Connell, who started 10 games last season and posted a 5-5 record for the Raiders.
