The Kansas City Chiefs are still picking up the pieces after suffering an embarrassing defeat to the Philadelphia Eagles in Super Bowl LIX in New Orleans on Sunday.
The Chiefs got shut out in the first half and never recovered, putting an end to their mission to become the first team to win three straight Super Bowl trophies.
Kansas City wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins, for his part, lost the chance to win his first ring. It is the only thing missing in his illustrious career. He was traded by the Tennessee Titans to the Chiefs in October and hoped to finally capture the holy grail.
Alas, it wasn't meant to be.
While it was a stinging experience, the 32-year-old veteran made one thing clear and issued a stern message following the Chiefs' loss to the Eagles.
"Don’t know what you heard but I’m not done yet," wrote Hopkins on X.
He, however, swiftly deleted the post after fans pointed out that the rumor that he was retiring came from a parody account. Hopkins' post was screen-grabbed by DraftKings Network.

The five-time All-Pro member will be a free agent in the offseason. It's unclear if he'll stay in Kansas City, where the receiving corps is already loaded with talent, including Hollywood Brown, Xavier Worthy, JuJu Smith-Schuster, Justin Watson, Rashee Rice and Mecole Hardman.
Hopkins hardly made his presence felt in the title game versus the Eagles, getting only two receptions for 18 yards.
The five-time Pro Bowler saw his production dip this season. He tallied 56 receptions for 610 yards—the second-lowest of his career. He only started five of his 10 games with the Chiefs.
