The biggest play of Sunday's 23-20 win over the Buffalo Bills on Sunday afternoon wasn't just big for the scoreboard, it was big for the Houston Texans offense. Wide receiver Nico Collins injured his hamstring on the play and did not return to the game.
Texans head coach DeMeco Ryans updated the status of Collins during his media availability on Monday and was unsure about whether he would play on Sunday against the New England Patriots.
"Nico, he's in good spirits. Of course, with the hamstring, it takes a couple weeks with the hamstring. We will evaluate that on a week to week basis and see."
This is both unfortunate and great news for Collins, as he seems to have avoided serious injury. If Collins misses any time, it's a big blow for the Texans. He is currently third in the National Football League with 32 receptions and first with 567 yards, along with three touchdowns. His ability to take the top off of the defense has made things easier for the rest of the offense.
Having the Patriots as their next opponent is perfect for Collins to take things on the slow side and wait for his hamstring to be 100% ready.
