New Orleans Saints quarterback Derek Carr has been through a tough situation in the NFL before. As a veteran QB, the Las Vegas Raiders wanted to move on from him. That led to Carr getting benched.
It was an emotional time for Carr and his family, so he knows what Russell Wilson is going through in Denver right now. Wilson was benched on Wednesday due to his contract situation and play on the field. Sean Payton made the move, and wilson is not expected to be with the Broncos next year.
"Been there, you know? I understand. He's got a big number and if he gets hurt, they don't know If he's staying or leaving. It's frustrating. Everyone knows he can play."
-- Carr on Wilson's situation with Broncos
Carr was asked if he planned to reach out to Wilson: "Any good quarterback, when you're surrounded by a lot of talent, a lot of good guys, the results come. For us, as quarterbacks, it's so hard to do. So anytime anyone reaches out, it means something."

Jarrett Stidham is the new starter for Denver to finish the season. When Carr was benched with the Raiders, Stidham was his replacement as well. The similarities ar uncanny between the two decisions.
Carr had a gleaming review for Stidham. He expects him to play well for the Broncos.
"I love Stiddy. Me and him had great relationship last year, and still do. I wish him the best. I know Russ wishes him the best."
Wilson is in a tough spot, but Denver is, too. The Broncos did it to themselves when they extended Wilson when they made the deal for him.
