Derrius Guice in more trouble, accused of reckless driving

Derrius Guice's life isn't getting any easier.

The former Washington Football Team running back has been ordered to appear in court over a reckless driving incident, according to TMZ Sports.

Guice was pulled over after driving 95 in a 55 near Dulles Airport in Virginia, and it wasn't the first time he was caught speeding. He's received four speeding tickets over 13 months, TMZ adds.

This time, the 23-year-old was cited for misdemeanor reckless driving and his court date is in September.

Washington released Guice earlier this month after he was arrested on several domestic violence charges, including felony strangulation.

Head coach Ron Rivera, who revealed he was disappointed with Guice's release, admitted it was a "tough, but necessary decision."

Washington selected Guice in the second round of the 2018 NFL Draft, and he was a cause for concern at that time due to questions about his character.

The 23-year-old played just five games in two seasons for Washington due to multiple knee injuries. As a result of those injuries, the organization deemed him unreliable and added multiple running backs this offseason.

Washington heads into the 2020 campaign with Adrian Peterson, Peyton Barber, Antonio Gibson, Bryce Love and J.D. McKissic. While Guice is gone, Peterson always was expected to take on most of the workload in 2020.

The team begins the 2020 campaign against the Philadelphia Eagles on Sept. 13, and they're much better off this season than the last.
