As the NFL trade deadline approaches, the Baltimore Ravens have emerged as a team to watch closely. Currently sitting at 1-5, the team is facing a critical juncture in its season, and experts suggest that they could either buy or sell depending on their performance over the next few weeks. With a recent four-game losing streak, the urgency for the franchise to find solutions is palpable.

Lamar Jackson’s anticipated return from injury could provide a much-needed boost to the team’s offense. However, Baltimore’s struggles have raised questions about its overall effectiveness, particularly on defense, which has faltered in critical moments. If the team continues to underperform, they may need to explore trades to improve their roster and regain competitiveness in a challenging AFC.

Analysts have pointed out that Baltimore could be in the market for additional pass-rushers or even consider moving key players who are not part of its long-term plans. This includes potential trades for 2026 free agents such as Mark Andrews and Isaiah Likely. The decision to either acquire talent or part ways with established players will significantly impact the future direction of the franchise.

The Ravens’ upcoming games against the Bears and Dolphins will be crucial in determining their strategy at the trade deadline. A couple of wins could shift their mindset toward being buyers, while further losses may prompt them to start rebuilding. The inconsistency of their play has left fans and analysts alike anxious about the team’s prospects.

ESPN’s NFL Analysis Names Baltimore Ravens as Team to watch Before Trade Deadline

A lot of eyes reportedly be on Baltimore as the trade deadline approaches. This is detailed in an analysis by Dan Graziano for ESPN.

Graziano: The Ravens are a fascinating team to watch ahead of the trade deadline. They’ve already been active. Last week they traded Odafe Oweh from an already thin pass-rush group to get safety Alohi Gilman. That’s an unconventional in-season move, but Baltimore is now 1-5 and desperate for any kind of answers in a season that had carried Super Bowl hopes.

Will it go out and add more pass-rush help on the trade market? Are there players on the roster we might not assume are available (like Oweh) but could be if Baltimore determines it could solve a problem with another player-for-player deal? If the Ravens lose in Weeks 8 and 9 (they have a bye this week) and are 1-7, could they be dealing players for picks at the deadline?

These next few weeks are critical ones for the organization, which has another Lamar Jackson extension situation looming and could have big decisions to make if this season continues to get away from them.

Currently, Baltimore has a 39% chance of making the playoffs, but that could change drastically based on their performance in the next few weeks. The pressure is on head coach John Harbaugh and the front office to make decisions that could either salvage the season or set the stage for a rebuild.
