Nick Chubb is looking to bounce back from another injury in 2025, and the Houston Texans have offered the veteran running back a chance to earn a significant amount of money if he can do that.
Chubb passed a physical and signed with the Texans on Monday. According to Ian Rapoport of NFL Media, Houston is giving Chubb a one-year, $2.5M contract with incentives that could bring it up to $5M.
New #Texans RB Nick Chubb has now passed his physical and signed with Houston, sources say. The former #Browns Pro Bowler agreed to terms over the weekend and is getting a 1-year, $2.5M deal that can be worth up to $5M.

While the details of the incentives remain unknown, the salary is a slight raise from the $2.275M that Chubb played for with the Cleveland Browns last season. He did not make his season debut until mid-October after recovering from an ACL and MCL tear he suffered in 2023.
Chubb is now working his way back from a broken foot he suffered in Week 15 last year. He finished the 2024 season with 332 yards in eight games and averaged just 3.3 yards per carry.
There is no guarantee that Chubb will make the final roster in Houston, but the contract seems fair for a 29-year-old running back with a lengthy injury history that dates back to his time in college at Georgia.
