Several Detroit Lions have new uniform numbers ahead of the 2023 season. Additionally, numbers for new additions to the practice squad were released Friday.
Backup quarterback Teddy Bridgewater, who donned two different numbers throughout the preseason, will now wear No. 10 for the Lions in the regular season.
Bridgewater wore both No. 50 and No. 17 during his two preseason appearances with the Lions.
Steven Gilmore, who wore No. 36 during the preseason, will now wear No. 24. He made the roster as an undrafted rookie and will take the number worn by kicker Parker Romo in the preseason.
Fellow cornerback Jerry Jacobs has officially made the change from No. 39 to No. 23, as he previously stated.
As for the practice squad, the Lions brought in 16 members for their initial group leading up to the Sept. 7 opener against the Kansas City Chiefs.
Several returning members, such as wide receiver Maurice Alexander (No. 15), safety Brandon Joseph (No. 40) and wide receiver Dylan Drummond (No. 83) will wear the same number that they wore during the preseason.
