The Philadelphia Eagles are currently preparing for their preseason finale against the Cincinnati Bengals on Friday, having dropped a game against the New England Patriots over the weekend. The Eagles were without several key players in that contest, including wide receivers Devonta Smith and Makai Lemon.

Both Smith and Lemon have missed time due to hamstring injuries so far during training camp, but on Monday, the team got a positive development on that front.

“Good development for the Eagles: Makai Lemon and DeVonta Smith are off the injury report,” reported ESPN NFL insider Tim McManus on X, formerly Twitter.

Smith and Lemon both have some pressure on them to step up this year thanks to the moves the Eagles have made this offseason, namely the trade of AJ Brown to the Patriots. Smith will likely step into the number one wide receiver role for Philadelphia this year, while Lemon is looking to prove that he can contribute right away after being selected in the first round of this April’s NFL Draft.

Having both players healthy for the final tune-ups of training camp is certainly a good start in that quest. The Eagles’ offense this year will be led by coordinator Sean Mannion, who took over for Kevin Patullo after he was fired following one dreadful season at the helm.

In any case, the Eagles’ preseason finale is set for Friday against the Bengals at 8:00 pm ET from Philadelphia. The Eagles’ regular season will get underway on September 13 with a divisional game at home against the Washington Commanders.
