The San Francisco 49ers' All-Pro tight end believes quarterback Brock Purdy will "continue to elevate his game" after signing his $265 million deal.
On Tuesday, San Francisco 49ers tight end George Kittle appeared on FanDuel's Up & Adams Show with Kay Adams to discuss his offseason, NFL legacy, life after football, and—of course—49ers starting quarterback Brock Purdy. Both Kittle and Purdy signed lucrative extensions this offseason, but Purdy's contract and the expectations that come with such a sizable deal continue to be a topic of national discussion.
Kittle has answered questions about Purdy many times before, although Kay Adams' version was a bit more skeptical: "Your best years by the numbers are with Brock Purdy. How can that be if Brock still has something to prove? How can that be?"

"Well ... I'll say we all still have something to prove ... every single day," Kittle stated bluntly, before addressing critics who think otherwise: "So, for the people that like saying that ... he's got something to prove ... good for them."
"I think Brock is going to continue to elevate his game and continue to play at a high level, and that's all we really care about," Kittle continued. "I just want to be around guys that strive to be better every single day."
The 31-year-old tight end spoke about the negatives surrounding complacency, especially in an NFL locker room, noting, "I don't like being around people who are just content." Instead, Kittle emphasized the importance of his teammates getting better every day because "they have that desire to get better every day."
"I'm in a great room. I'm in a great building. So I'm just happy to be around guys who are like that."
