Dolphins Announce Update on Injured WR Grant DuBose

The Miami Dolphins have provided an update on wide receiver Grant DuBose following a frightening injury sustained during Sunday’s game against the Houston Texans. DuBose, who suffered a head injury in a helmet-to-helmet collision with Texans safety Calen Bullock, was transported to Memorial Hermann Medical Center in Houston for evaluation after being stabilized on the field.

In a statement released Monday morning, the Dolphins announced that DuBose remained under medical observation overnight and had shown positive initial signs.

“An update on the status of Dolphins WR Grant DuBose: After sustaining a head injury in yesterday’s game, Grant DuBose remained at a local Houston hospital for evaluation overnight,” the team posted on social media. “He has movement in all extremities and initial tests have revealed positive results. He remains under the care of doctors for continued observation.”

The incident occurred in the third quarter when DuBose attempted to catch a pass over the middle and collided with Bullock.

The severity of the impact left him motionless on the field for several minutes, prompting swift action from medical staff. His teammates, including quarterback Tua Tagovailoa, expressed their support, with Tagovailoa calling attention to the risks of the game and wishing DuBose a swift recovery.

DuBose’s 2024 season has been a challenging one. After being claimed off waivers by Miami in August, he began the year on injured reserve due to a shoulder injury and was only recently activated in December. He has appeared in two games this season, recording two receptions for 11 yards.

Drafted by the Green Bay Packers in the seventh round of the 2023 NFL draft, DuBose has faced adversity throughout his football career, from transferring colleges to battling injuries.

The Dolphins and their fans remain hopeful for his full recovery, with the organization continuing to prioritize his health and safety as he undergoes further evaluations.
