Although his time as a member of the Miami Dolphins wasn’t long, linebacker Karlos Dansby was unquestionably productive. Born Nov. 3, 1982, Dansby celebrates his 45th birthday today!
Dansby spent just three of his 14 NFL seasons with the Miami Dolphins but made a big impact during his time in South Florida. A member of the team from 2010 to 2012, Dansby recorded more than 100 tackles over each of his final two years in Miami.
After appearing in 14 games with 13 starts in 2010, Dansby started every game over his final two seasons with the Dolphins. During his time with Miami, Dansby recorded 331 total tackles, including a team-leading 134 in 2012 — the ninth-highest total in a season in team history.
His 101 solo stops that year ranks fourth in franchise history. In addition to his 331 tackles, Dansby added six sacks, one interception and three forced fumbles as a member of the Dolphins.
Drafted in the second round of the 2004 NFL Draft by the Arizona Cardinals out of Auburn, Dansby spent his first six seasons in Arizona before signing with Miami in 2010. Following his time in South Florida, Dansby returned to Arizona for the 2013 season. After two years with the Cleveland Browns in 2014 and 2015 and one year with the Cincinnati Bengals, Dansby concluded his career by returning to the Cardinals for a third stint in 2017.
