The Miami Dolphins have made a notable defensive addition ahead of their third and final preseason game.
Matthew Judon agreed to a one-year contract with the Dolphins on Monday, according to multiple reports. The deal is worth a maximum value of $6M.

Judon spent the 2024 season with the Atlanta Falcons and played in all 17 games. The veteran recorded 41 total tackles, 5.5 sacks and an interception.
The New England Patriots traded Judon to Atlanta just ahead of last season. Judon was limited to just four games in 2023 because of a torn biceps, but he had the two most productive seasons of his career in New England prior to that. The four-time Pro Bowl linebacker finished with a career-high 15.5 sacks in 2022 and 12.5 sacks in 2021.
The Dolphins have a solid defensive front that is anchored by Bradley Chubb, Jaelan Phillips and Chop Robinson. While Judon is 33 and not nearly as explosive as he was a few years ago, he should be able to provide valuable depth in Miami if he can remain healthy.
