Dolphins Complete Interview with Bills OC on Sunday
Another day, another candidate being interviewed to be the next head coach of the Miami Dolphins. On a day that featured Divisional playoff games between the New England Patriots and Houston Texans as well as the Chicago Bears and Los Angeles Rams, Miami interviewed Buffalo Bills offensive coordinator Joe Brady on Sunday. The Dolphins’ official X account made a post confirming that the interview took place.

Brady sat down with the Dolphins regarding their opening not long after his Bills got eliminated from the playoffs. Buffalo lost to the Denver Broncos in overtime by a final score of 33-30 on Saturday, but the Bills’ offensive attack is what got them back in the game, as they scored 20 points in the second half alone, including 13 in the fourth and final frame.
The 36-year-old has been part of the Bills’ coaching staff since the 2022 season, when he began as a quarterbacks coach. In each of the last two campaigns, he’s served as Buffalo’s offensive coordinator and oversaw an elite offensive attack this season. The Bills’ offense ranked in the top four in the league in both yards and points per contest.
Fans can add Brady to the lengthy list of people the Dolphins have spoken to regarding their head-coaching opening, but they shouldn’t hold their breath that he’ll ultimately be hired. At this point, it appears as though the job to be Mike McDaniel’s replacement could be Jeff Hafley’s to lose, and he’s widely perceived to be the front-runner in the sweepstakes. Hafley currently serves as the Green Bay Packers’ defensive coordinator and previously served as the head coach of Boston College’s football team.
Even if it doesn’t seem likely that Brady will be seriously considered for the Dolphins’ job, it’s nice to see that Miami is at least casting a wide net in its search for a new leader from the sidelines.
