Dolphins Fans Civil War
Dolphins fans are mad as hell, and they aren’t going to take it anymore.
And other Dolphins fans aren’t.
Guess what, that’s OK!
Every Miami Dolphins fan is entitled to be a fan in their own way. Some feel the season is already lost after Week 1 and that first game looked a lot like every game last season, which didn’t go well.
Other fans are taking a more cautious approach, feeling that it’s just one game, and let’s see what happens this Sunday.
No one person is a gatekeeper of who is and isn’t a Miami Dolphins fan.
Everyone is entitled to an opinion and their feelings regarding the team they love and support.
That’s why we watch sports, to go through that range of emotions and the feeling it brings you. Remember that old saying, “the thrill of victory and the agony of defeat.”
I know for the Dolphins it’s been more agony of late (like 25 years), but as fans, we have no control over that.
One thing I learned is that fans and media should never tell other fans how to “be a fan” of their team.
If a Dolphins fan still wants to have hope for the 2025 season and thinks the playoffs are possible even after last week’s poor performance, great. That’s what sports are about, and you should feel that way.
If a Dolphins fan thinks this team is awful and wants to be critical, criticizing everything and believing that losing out is the best way forward to see real change, they have every right to feel that way.
Neither side is right nor wrong.
Dolphins fans invest a significant amount of time and money in following this team; they have every right to voice their support or displeasure at any time they choose.
The fact that it’s been 25 years without a playoff win and there is a waiting list for season tickets speaks volumes about the quality of this fan base and its loyalty.
Dolphins fans have stood by their team year after year, no matter how bad it has been, and supported this team with their money and time.
They have every right to express their feelings, good, bad, or indifferent, and nobody should call a Dolphins fan a “bad fan” if they don’t share the same outlook or opinion as them.
