Dolphins Hire Tyke Tolbert as their WR Coach
The Miami Dolphins have hired a new wide receiver coach. Per Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network, the Dolphins have hired Tyke Tolbert to be their new WR Coach.
Tolbert played WR at LSU, but never in the NFL.
He has been an NFL WR Coach for Arizona, Buffalo, Carolina, Denver, NY Giants, Chicago, and Tennessee.
For Chicago, he was also their passing game coordinator.
Tolbert won a Super Bowl ring in Denver as their wide receivers coach in Super Bowl 50.
He is considered one of the NFL’s most respected position coaches.

Tolbert will work with new Miami Dolphins OC Bobby Slowik, whom Jeff Hafley named as his OC on Saturday afternoon.
This will not be the first time Slowik will be an NFL offensive coordinator; he served in this role for 2 seasons in Houston.
After the 2023 season, in which Houston’s offense ranked highly overall, and rookie quarterback C.J. Stroud won Offensive Rookie of the Year, Slowik was seen as the hot assistant coach who would likely get a head coaching job.
He interviewed for head coaching jobs with Washington, Seattle, Carolina, Tennessee, and Atlanta.
At the end of the day, he stayed in Houston as their offensive coordinator and received a contract extension.
In 2024, because the offense regressed somewhat, Houston gave up many sacks, and many in Houston felt Slowik didn’t adapt well, he was fired as the Texans’ offensive coordinator.
Miami’s WR coach last season was Robret Prince, who is currently interviewing for offensive coordinator positions around the league.
