The Miami Dolphins have made three roster moves ahead of Sunday’s matchup against the New York Jets, activating safety Kyle Louis from injured reserve and elevating kicker Zane Gonzalez and edge rusher Max Llewellyn from the practice squad.
The Dolphins announced the moves Saturday through their official X account. Louis returns after missing several games with a knee injury, while Gonzalez and Llewellyn join the active roster for the AFC East matchup at MetLife Stadium.
Miami enters the game still searching for its first win of the season. The Dolphins are 0-5, while the Jets are 2-4 and have an opportunity to improve their record with a home victory.

Louis was selected by Miami in the fourth round of the 2026 NFL Draft out of Pittsburgh. He made his NFL debut in the season opener against the Las Vegas Raiders before landing on injured reserve on Sept. 16.
The rookie safety returned to practice this week, opening his 21-day window to return. His activation gives Miami another option in the secondary, although his availability does not automatically guarantee an immediate return to a full workload.
Gonzalez’s elevation also comes after Miami made a change at kicker. The Dolphins released Riley Patterson earlier in the week and signed Gonzalez to the practice squad on Oct. 20. Gonzalez previously joined Miami in March but was placed on injured reserve before the regular season.
The veteran kicker made 86.4% of his field-goal attempts with the Atlanta Falcons in 2025, along with 17 of 18 extra-point attempts. His elevation gives Miami another option at a position the team recently adjusted.
Llewellyn, meanwhile, provides additional depth on the edge for Sunday’s game. He has already been elevated from the practice squad earlier this season, including for the Sept. 20 matchup against the San Francisco 49ers.
The Dolphins will face a Jets team looking to improve to 3-4. Miami’s roster changes address several immediate personnel needs, but the team must still translate those adjustments into better results on the field.
