The Miami Dolphins made a major front-office change on Friday.
Following a 28-6 blowout loss to the Baltimore Ravens on "Thursday Night Football," the Dolphins announced the team and general manager Chris Grier agreed to part ways. Grier had been the general manager since 2016 and had been with the organization since 2000.
"This morning, I made the decision, along with general manager Chris Grier, to mutually part ways. I have incredible respect for Chris and his family, and I want to thank him for his many contributions to the Miami Dolphins over the past 26 years," part of Stephen Ross' statement read, via ESPN's Adam Schefter.
The loss dropped the Dolphins to 2-7 overall heading into their next game against the Buffalo Bills on Nov. 9. Head coach Mike McDaniel remains in that role, and, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter, he's expected to stay on as head coach for the rest of the season.
"Dolphins HC Mike McDaniel will remain Miami’s head coach for the remainder of the season at least, per sources," Schefter tweeted.
McDaniel is in his fourth season as the Dolphins' head coach and led them to the playoffs in 2022 and 2023. He has a 30-30 record in Miami.
The Dolphins' schedule won't get any easier, as they face the Bills and the Commanders in their next two games. The Bills already beat the Dolphins in Buffalo back on Sept. 18 and will go for the season sweep on Nov. 9.
If this season continues to go south, there's a chance that the Dolphins will move on from McDaniel after the season and try to find a new head coach.
