Dolphins Predicted to Cut Ties With $120 Million All-Pro in Offseason

It's only a matter of time before the Miami Dolphins make a firm decision on Tyreek Hill’s future. Chris Grier has made it known that he wants to keep the All-Pro around, but it remains uncertain how true his words are.

Grier hasn't made the right decisions for the Dolphins over the past few years, making his decision to keep Hill around a question mark.

Regardless of how other feels, Hill is a very good player, and would help the Dolphins in 2025-26.

The issue, however, is that Miami doesn't have a great team around him, and it could be looking at one of its worst seasons over the past few years.

Trading Hill could then become a possibility, and some expect that to happen, including Pro Football Network, with them predicting that the Dolphins will cut ties with him via a trade during the offseason.

“GM Chris Grier can say what he wants publicly, but the Dolphins’ actions say another thing. With Jalen Ramsey apparently on his way out, the Dolphins look like a team primed for a re-tool. Miami has several bloated contracts nearing their completion, led by Tyreek Hill...

“In reality, there are very few teams that wouldn’t be interested in Hill’s services. Even in a down year, Hill averaged 1.79 yards per route, right behind DK Metcalf and Jaxon Smith-Njigba. That ticked up to 1.85 yards per route in games started by Tua Tagovailoa, roughly the same number as Courtland Sutton last season. If the Dolphins make Hill available in a trade, it’s possible they recoup another receiver and a premium pick,” they wrote.

Trading Hill before the draft has its benefits regarding Miami being able to get a wide receiver in the draft. However, the Dolphins will also have to consider their cap situation, which wouldn't be pretty, whether they get rid of him now or after June 1.
