Dolphins Predicted to Land Pro Bowl WR, Named 'Perfect Landing Spot'

The Miami Dolphins could be looking for a third wide receiver to pair with Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle, and according to Aaron Schatz at ESPN, Keenan Allen is the answer.

"Hill and Waddle would give Allen a ton of room to work with underneath, giving quarterback Tua Tagovailoa a nice security blanket," Schatz said. "That makes Miami the perfect landing spot for a seasoned veteran slot receiver like Allen."

The dynamic duo of Hill and Waddle operate from all spots on the field. Bringing an elite route runner into the slot like Allen offers even more versatility for head coach Mike McDaniel on offense.

Right now, the team's third wide receiver is expected to be Nick Westbrook-Ikhine, with 2024 late-round draft picks Malik Washington and Tahj Washington also in the potential rotation.

Allen, who just turned 33 years old in April, statistically outperformed all of them combined last season while he was with the Chicago Bears.

Westbrook-Ikhine had a mediocre 32 catches for 497 yards across 17 games with the Titans, while Malik Washington grabbed 26 balls for 223 yards, and Tahj Washington missed the entire season with an injury.

Allen grabbed 70 balls for 744 yards and seven touchdowns in 15 games. He was second on the Bears in receiving yards behind D.J. Moore's 966 yards and just ahead of rookie Rome Odunze's 734 yards.

Quality production is still there for the veteran receiver, and with a contract that will likely cost the team little, there could be interest on both sides.
