Dolphins Sign Former 2nd Round Pick WR Terrace Marshall Jr
The official start of NFL free agency is still more than a month away on March 11, but it’s not too early for teams to ink a player to a future/reserve contract, and the Miami Dolphins did just that on Wednesday. An agency called Elite Loyalty Sports announced on its official X account that wide receiver Terrace Marshall Jr. has reached a new deal with the Dolphins.

Marshall, a former LSU standout, was a second-round pick by the Carolina Panthers back in the 2021 NFL Draft and holds career totals of 808 receiving yards, one receiving touchdown, and 40 first downs receiving across 43 regular-season games (17 starts).
He accumulated the lion’s share of those receiving yards and first downs receiving as a second-year player in the 2022 campaign. Marshall enjoyed far and away his best season as a pro as a sophomore, considering he totaled 490 receiving yards along with 24 first downs in nine starts, and Miami fans are surely hoping he can get back to playing at that level with the Dolphins.
But the fact of the matter is that Marshall is long removed from his successful 2022 campaign or any highly productive season in the NFL. He didn’t play at all in the 2025 NFL season despite being a member of the Philadelphia Eagles, and before that, he mustered just 180 receiving yards in the 2023 and 2024 seasons combined in limited roles with the Panthers and Las Vegas Raiders.
It’s unclear if Marshall will ever have a real sizable role in Miami’s offense, but that appears to be in the cards with all the uncertainty the team is facing at the wide receiver position. Jaylen Waddle has been in quite a few trade rumors in recent months, and Tyreek Hill‘s Dolphins future is in limbo as he recovers from a serious knee injury sustained during the 2025 campaign.
