 Dolphins Sign OT Charlie Heck

The Miami Dolphins have signed veteran OT Charlie Heck.

Heck is 29 years old and a former 4th-round pick in the 2020 NFL Draft of the Houston Texans.

He has spent time with Houston, Arizona, San Francisco, and Tampa Bay.

He has played in 67 NFL games, starting 29.

In 2025, for Tampa Bay, he played in 17 games, starting 6.

In Miami, Heck will compete for a backup offensive line spot, along with Jamaree Salyer.

The Dolphins lost Larry Borom this offseason and need a backup swing tackle. Not to mention, with Austin Jackson‘s history of always being injured, they need more than one capable backup offensive tackle, as it’s not a matter of if but when Jackson goes down and misses significant time.

For those into PFF grades, Heck didn’t exactly light the world on fire last season.

For an overall grade, he was 45.2, which ranked him 86th out of 89 offensive tackles.

For a pass blocking grade, he ranked 48.0, ranking him 82nd out of 89 offensive tackles.

And a pass blocking grade of 44.0, ranking him 86th out of 89 offensive tackles.

Terms of the deal have not been released at this time but most likely this is a one-year contract with little if any guaranteed money.
