The Miami Dolphins are just one game into the season, but already find themselves nearing the pushing of the panic button.
To open the year, the Dolphins lost 33-8 to the Indianapolis Colts, while somehow managing to look dysfunctional in every aspect of the game. Defensively, the Dolphins allowed a score on all seven of the Colts' offensive possessions, and made former disgraced New York Giants quarterback Daniel Jones look like he was an All-Pro talent.
Offensively, starting quarterback Tua Tagovailoa threw two interceptions and lost a fumble, with the unit's struggles escalating to the point that All-Pro wide receiver Tyreek Hill was spotted yelling at an assistant coach on the sidelines.
With Hill's unhappiness in Miami becoming louder and louder throughout the offseason, there has been plenty of trade speculation for the 31-year-old receiver. However, according to ESPN's Jeremy Fowler, the Dolphins don't currently plan to trade him.
"Trade rumors around Tyreek Hill will be worth watching," wrote Fowler. "My understanding is that Miami received calls on Hill but did not show interest in trading him. If the losing persists, perhaps those phone lines open. The Dolphins already exercised Hill's $15.85 million option bonus, leaving a $10 million base salary and $1.8 million in per-game bonuses."
Fowler also tabbed a return to the Kansas City Chiefs as a possibility, citing the Chiefs' issues at receiver, whether it be unexpected injuries or ongoing suspensions.
Hill spent the first six seasons of his career in Kansas City, helping the team win Super Bowl LIV in 2019. He was then traded to the Dolphins in 2022 and is heading into his fourth season with the team.
He has shown he has plenty left in the tank, but it seems dating back to after the final game of last season, he's frustrated in Miami.
"I'm out, bruh," Hill said via ESPN. It was great playing here but at the end of the day, I have to do what's best for my career."
The Dolphins are set to host the New England Patriots on Sunday.
