The Miami Dolphins finally have a general manager. Now, it's all about finding former head coach Mike McDaniel's replacement.
As expected, the Dolphins are one of many teams keeping tabs on John Harbaugh. Some even speculate that they would've kept McDaniel if the Baltimore Ravens hadn't fired their head coach.
Now, ESPN insider Adam Schefter reports that the Dolphins have officially reached out to the former Super Bowl-winning head coach.
"On the day the Dolphins finalized an agreement with GM Jon-Eric Sullivan, they finally reached out to John Harbaugh and let it be known that they, too, are in interested in him, per sources. So add Miami to the list of teams that would like to meet with Harbaugh," Schefter wrote on X.
Harbaugh reportedly chose not to take any head-coaching interviews right after being fired, but he might meet with several teams next week. His list of demands reportedly includes a $20M salary and control over the roster.
As things stand now, the Cleveland Browns, Las Vegas Raiders, New York Giants and now the Dolphins are the teams that are expected to make a run at him. Nevertheless, Schefter previously reported that as many as seven teams reached out to his agent within 45 minutes of being fired.
Harbaugh has emerged as the primary candidate for all head-coaching positions available, and it shouldn't take long before he finds his next destination.
As for the Dolphins, the uncertainty at quarterback, plus the AFC East featuring Josh Allen and Drake Maye, might make it tough for them to land the top candidate.
