Dolphins to Hire Bush Hamdan as Quarterbacks Coach

Matt Zenitz of CBS Sports is reporting the Dolphins are going to hire Mississippi St associate head coach Bush Hamdan as their new quarterbacks coach.

Hamdan just accepted a job with Mississippi St this offseason, but is leaving to take the Dolphins job. Much like Nate Hackett did when agreeing to coach the Dolphins quarterbacks, but before starting, leaving to take the Arizona Cardinals offensive coordinator position.

Hamdan has an extensive coaching background, mostly at the college level. In 2017, though, he was the Atlanta Falcons’ quarterbacks coach for one season, working with Matt Ryan that year.

Prior to accepting the Miss St job, he was the offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach at Kentucky from 2024-2025.

In 2023, he was the Boise St offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach.

From 2020-2022, he was the quarterbacks coach at Missouri.

It was reported Thursday evening that the Dolphins were denied permission to interview Detroit Lions offensive assistant Bruce Gadkowski to be their quarterbacks coach.
