Dolphins' Tua Tagovailoa makes debut on elite NFL list

He received high praise from teammates as well as players around the league, who used phrases such as "elite" and "the Steph Curry of the NFL" to describe him.

Tagovailoa performed at an extremely high level last season, despite missing four regular-season games and one postseason contest.

Tagovailoa had a career year in his third season throwing for 3,548 yards, 25 touchdowns and eight interceptions while completing 64.8% of his passes. He finished the season No. 1 in multiple categories, including passer rating, yards per attempt and yards per completion. He also tied with Patrick Mahomes for the top TD percentage per pass mark. Plus, he claimed the league's third-highest QBR and made his mark as one of the NFL's elite deep-ball passers.

The ranking comes just after Tagovailoa cracked the top-10 list for QB rankings on the upcoming "Madden 24" video game. That's not the only top-10 list he's seen his name make an appearance on, as he's a top-10 favorite to win NFL MVP. 

He now looks to continue the momentum from last season and this offseason's recognition into even more success. If the Dolphins offense that finished sixth last season under then-first-year head coach Mike McDaniel continues to improve and is as scary as Tagovailoa says it can be, then there's a good shot the QB will rank even higher on all these lists next season.
