The Miami Dolphins continued their preparations for the 2025 regular season on Monday with their first day of training camp, which will be held at the Baptist Health Training Complex over the next few weeks.

The franchise kicked off the next stage of its offseason with a flurry of roster moves, which included a new signing in the form of veteran offensive lineman Daniel Brunskill. He signed with the Dolphins following a three-man tryout that also included Mark Glowinski and Shane Lemieux, according to NFL Trade Rumors' Logan Ulrich. Originally an undrafted free agent who played college football at San Diego State, Brunskill has appeared in 92 career games (including 66 starts) with the Atlanta Falcons, San Francisco 49ers, and Tennessee Titans.

To make room on the active roster for Brunskill, the Dolphins parted ways with quarterback Brett Gabbert, who they signed as an undrafted rookie free agent earlier in the offseason. Gabbert, the younger brother of former NFL signal caller Blaine Gabbert, spent the past six years at Miami-Ohio, where he finished second in program history in career passing yards (10,184) and landed a spot on the All-MAC First Team in 2024.

The Dolphins also formally announced injury designations for three players. Tight end Darren Waller and offensive lineman Liam Eichenberg were placed on the physically unable to perform list, while safety Ifeatu Melifonwu was placed on the non-football injury list.

Waller, who previously announced his retirement from professional football before the 2024 season, was acquired by the Dolphins on July 1 to serve as the team's replacement for the recently dealt Jonnu Smith. Waller has 350 receptions, 4,124 receiving yards, and 20 touchdowns, in addition to one Pro Bowl nod to his name across nine seasons with the Baltimore Ravens, Oakland/Las Vegas Raiders, and New York Giants.

Eichenburg has started 52 games (appearing in 60 total) along the Dolphins' offensive line since the team took him with the No. 42 overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft. Melifonwu, meanwhile, signed a one-year, $4 million contract with the Dolphins this offseason after spending the first four years of his career with the Detroit Lions, with whom he accumulated 72 tackles, two interceptions, and 13 passes defended in 37 games.
