Dolphins WR Lauds Malik Willis‘ Arm Talent
If the 2026 season started today for the Miami Dolphins, there’s a non-zero chance Malik Washington would be their WR1. Simply put, the Dolphins could turn to the two-year pro and former sixth-round pick quite often to deliver in the air in the coming season, and fortunately, the 25-year-old is impressed with the arm of his new quarterback, Malik Willis.
While speaking to the media recently, Washington lauded his namesake’s arm talent, specifically noting the speed with which Willis gets the ball out of his hands, along with his release.
Count Dolphins WR Malik Washington among those impressed with new QB Malik Willis' arm talent:

Willis is looking to turn heads in his maiden season with the Dolphins organization after the two sides came to terms on a contract last month. Miami inked Willis, a former Auburn University standout, to a three-year deal worth $67.5 million in total — including $45 million in guaranteed money and a signing bonus of $22.25 million. He’s filling the shoes of Tua Tagovailoa, who was the Dolphins’ starting quarterback for much of the last six seasons.
The quarterback played just scarcely for the Green Bay Packers in 2025, with Jordan Love holding down the starting job, but how he fared in his one start suggests he’s ready for an upgraded role. Versus a Baltimore defense that was far from the worst in the league, he shone as a dual threat and racked up 288 passing yards to go along with 60 rushing yards.
Washington, meanwhile, is aiming for a career year in 2026 after he showed plenty of promise playing in Jaylen Waddle‘s and Tyreek Hill‘s shadows as a rookie and sophomore. Last season, he finished with the fourth-most receiving touchdowns of any Dolphin behind only Darren Waller, Waddle, and De’Von Achane.
Time will tell if the Washington and Willis duo in Miami will be the backbone of an effective offensive attack, but it’s an encouraging sign that the former is already so impressed with the latter.
