Dolphins WR Tyreek Hill on record-setting pace

The Dolphins had a tough night all-around on Thursday, but wide receiver Tyreek Hill continued his torrid start to the season. Hill racked up 160 yards on 10 catches, highlighted by a 64-yard pass from Teddy Bridgewater in the third quarter.

Hill finds himself on a record-setting pace through four games. With 477 yards, or an average of more than 119 yards per game, he's on a 17-game pace of 2,028 yards. No wide receiver has ever totaled 2,000 yards in a season. Calvin Johnson holds the season record with 1,964 yards in 2012.

Hill already has two games of at least 10 catches and 150 receiving yards, making him the only player in NFL history to have two such performances in the first four games of a season twice. Hill did it last season in a different uniform, making the accomplishment all the more impressive.

Hill teased a big performance ahead of Thursday night's game, telling reporters earlier in the week, "I can’t wait to go against Eli Apple. I owe you, boy. I owe you. I’m here. The cheetah’s here."

Hill didn't match up with Apple too often, but 160 yards on 10 catches is tough to argue with. Apple did get the last laugh, as the final pass of the night was an incompletion to Hill with Apple covering him. Hill and Apple exchanged some words after the play, but fortunately the pair let their on-field play do most of the talking.

Hill faces the Jets' defense in Week 5, and Thursday night was an indication he won't slow down if Tua Tagovailoa isn't ready to start by then.
