Donovan McNabb Provides Encouraging Update on Jalen Hurts
Kirby Lee-USA TODAY Sports

We haven’t heard much from, or about, Philadelphia Eagles star quarterback Jalen Hurts since he was officially sidelined for the remainder of the season due to blood clots.

But, now we have an encouraging update on Hurts thanks to a fellow Eagles legend.

Donovan McNabb Says Jalen Hurts is in ‘Good Spirits’

During an appearance on the Eagles Collective podcast, former Eagles QB Donovan McNabb revealed that he has been in contact with Hurts and that the former Super Bowl MVP is doing well despite being unable to suit up for Philadelphia.

“I think we can take the football situation out and just focus more on what this looks like for Jalen for his life, and that’s the main thing,” McNabb said. “I had an opportunity to talk to him a little bit. . . He’s doing well. He’s in good spirits.”

This is obviously great to hear for Eagles fans, and football fans in general. The entire football community is wishing for a speedy recovery from Hurts, who has established himself as one of the NFL’s most popular players.

When the time is right, Hurts will probably make a statement of his own regarding his health, but in the meantime it’s just good to get some sort of positive update from McNabb.

Eagles Have Been in Freefall Since Jalen Hurts Was Sidelined

Hurts’ health is obviously [much] more important than football, but the Eagles have certainly missed him out on the field. The team has lost all three games since he’s been sidelined, and the offense hasn’t even looked like an NFL offense.

Sure, the Eagles were still struggling with Hurts this season, but he was at least able to keep games competitive and even pull out a couple of wins. The same Commanders team that Hurts bested in the first week of the season just dog-walked the Eagles on Sunday Night football.

From a fan perspective, at least you felt like you had a chance to win with Hurts behind center. The same can’t be said about his backup, Tanner McKee. Unfortunately for fans in Philly, there’s still nine games remaining this season.
