Draft analyst reveals why the San Francisco 49ers are in a prime spot heading into the 2025 NFL Draft

The San Francisco 49ers have 11 picks in the 2025 NFL Draft.

So with that, NFL Network draft analyst Daniel Jeremiah says that the 49ers are a key candidate to trade back.

“They have done as well as anybody outside the first round, finding not just starters but All-Pro, impact-caliber players,” Jeremiah said at his press conference on Friday. "So, to me, it seems like a pretty simple formula, where you want more shots at it than less, given their track record and their history.”

Just look at their starting quarterback, who was selected with the 262nd pick in the 2022 NFL Draft. That is the best example of their abilities in the later rounds.

The 49ers currently hold the 11th overall pick along with one in the second round, two in the third round, two in the fourth round, and two in the fifth round.

So teams looking to move up and jump others who are interested in the same positions could be willing to make the 49ers an offer. And with that, they can then use those picks to gain more talent on their roster.

It's a win-win for San Francisco.

Here is the full list of the 49ers current draft picks (as of 4/20):

  • Round 2- Pick 43
  • Round 3 - Pick 75
  • Round 3 - Pick 100 (special compensatory pick)

  • Round 4 - Pick 138 (compensatory pick)
  • Round 5 - Pick 147 (from Saints through Commanders)
  • Round 5 - Pick 160 (from Vikings)
  • Round 7 - Pick 227
  • Round 7 - Pick 249 (compensatory pick)
  • Round 7 - Pick 252 (compensatory pick)
