Eagles' A.J. Brown: 'It’s kind of bittersweet' to leave Titans

Star wide receiver A.J. Brown first entered the NFL when the Tennessee Titans grabbed him in the second round of the 2019 draft and played only for that organization his first three pro seasons. As recently as April, Titans head coach Mike Vrabel remarked that Brown would not be on the trade block "as long as I’m the head coach," and Tennessee general manager Jon Robinson later said he could "not foresee" trading Brown.

The Titans clearly weren't ready to show Brown the money, though, and sent the one-time Pro Bowl selection to the Philadelphia Eagles on the opening night of this year's draft. Brown came to terms on a four-year, $100 million extension with his new employer that reportedly includes $57 million guaranteed.

Per Michael David Smith of Pro Football Talk, Brown admitted during his Eagles introductory press conference that saying goodbye to his first NFL home is tough.

"It’s kind of bittersweet," Brown said of the trade. "I’ve built relationships the past few years with good friends, and to see it go, to leave the building, it’s tough. But I’m also excited to be an Eagle and to be a part of a great organization."

Previously, Brown explained that he's "so excited" to play alongside "best friend" and Philadelphia quarterback Jalen Hurts. Hurts, meanwhile, will be tasked with making Brown's move to the City of Brotherly Love an enjoyable experience both on and off the field.
