Titans GM Jon Robinson does not 'foresee' trading A.J. Brown
Will the Tennessee Titans and sta wide receiver A.J. Brown be able to work things out? Christopher Hanewinckel-USA TODAY Sports

Titans GM Jon Robinson does not 'foresee' trading star WR A.J. Brown

Like San Francisco 49ers versatile offensive weapon Deebo Samuel, Tennessee Titans wide receiver A.J. Brown watched targets such as Davante Adams, Tyreek Hill and Stefon Diggs receive significant pay increases this NFL offseason.

While Samuel has reportedly asked the 49ers to trade him, ESPN's Turron Davenport notes that Brown has not yet gone down that route even though he, like Samuel, is in the final year of his rookie contract. Titans general manager Jon Robinson spoke with reporters Thursday and insisted he's closer to locking Brown down than to moving him on this spring.

"We've had some discussions with his reps," Robinson said of Brown. "He was here a couple of weeks ago and I talked to him. We're working through that. We've made it public how we feel about A.J. and how we want him to be a part of our football team."

Robinson added he does "not foresee" shipping Brown to a different club before, during or after the NFL Draft that begins next Thursday night.

"A.J. knows how we feel about him and how much he means to this football team," Robinson explained.

It was only two weeks ago when Tennessee's Mike Vrabel emphatically stated Brown won't be on the trade block "as long as I’m the head coach." Brown is currently skipping voluntary offseason workouts as he looks to pen put to paper on a lucrative extension.
