While speaking with reporters on Tuesday, Philadelphia Eagles general manager Howie Roseman had another opportunity to confirm that he will not trade wide receiver A.J. Brown before the start of the 2026 season.
Once again, Roseman noticeably used a certain phrase without confirming anything about Brown's long-term future with the organization.
"What do you think the odds are that I’m answering this question any different than I answered anywhere else? Like, really? Do you think it’s like 50 percent? Do you think it’s 75 percent? A.J. Brown is an Eagle," Roseman said when asked if Brown could soon be traded, per Michael David Smith of Pro Football Talk.
Roseman has said on multiple occasions this offseason that Brown is currently "a member of" the Eagles. However, the executive has yet to completely slam the door shut on trading the 28-year-old who may or may not want to get away from quarterback Jalen Hurts after their working relationship allegedly worsened over the past couple of seasons.
Numerous reports throughout the first several months of 2026 have pointed out that the Eagles likely won't finalize a trade involving Brown before June 1 for reasons related to the salary cap. He repeatedly has been linked with the New England Patriots, as he had New England's Mike Vrabel as a head coach when the two were with the Tennessee Titans from 2019 through the 2021 season. More recently, it was suggested that the Los Angeles Chargers could eventually explore trading for Brown.
That said, the Patriots and Chargers could address the position during the 2026 NFL Draft. For what it's worth, ESPN's Kris Rhim mentioned on Monday that the Chargers could spend the draft's 22nd overall pick on either a guard or a defensive tackle.
Roseman reportedly wants a first-round draft pick and a second-round choice for Brown. That said, supposed concerns about Brown's history of knee problems could basically force Roseman to lower that asking price once the draft wraps up.
