Cam Little drilled a 57-yard field goal as time expired and the Jacksonville Jaguars stunned the Philadelphia Eagles 19-17 on Sunday at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

The Eagles had taken a 17-16 lead on Jake Elliott’s 48-yard field goal with eight seconds remaining. On the ensuing kickoff, Ameer Abdullah returned the ball 53 yards to the Philadelphia 39-yard line, setting up Little’s winner with one second left.

Eagles coach Nick Sirianni accepted full responsibility for the decision that left the ball in play rather than kicking it deep for a touchback.

“I didn’t make the right decision and I lost us that game,” Sirianni said. “And that’s what I said to our guys. What hurts there is that the guys fought so hard, and then I don’t make the decision that I should make at the end of the game and I cost us that game and I put that fully on me.”

Philadelphia slipped to 2-3 with its third consecutive loss, the first time the team has sat at that mark since 2021. Jacksonville improved to 4-1.

Quarterback Jalen Hurts was asked afterward why the offense did not drain more clock on its final possession before the field goal. He said the call was not his to make.

“Ultimately, that’s not my place,” Hurts said. “Again, that’s not my place, and I’m prepared as a quarterback to not worry about those things. I’m honoring the play call, honoring the things that are coming in the game. When I’m up at night, I think about should I have said something? Should I have took a step back and say wait? But ultimately, there’s a commitment to going out there and executing, so this was one where it didn’t work in our favor.”

Hurts completed 21 of 40 passes for 220 yards and one touchdown with no interceptions. His longest completion was a 62-yard score to Darius Cooper that helped Philadelphia take a 14-7 halftime lead.

The Eagles managed only 22 yards rushing on 18 attempts. Dameon Pierce led the team with 14 yards on 11 carries after Will Shipley left with an injury. Philadelphia finished with 232 total yards while Jacksonville gained 408.

Trevor Lawrence completed 24 of 39 passes for 331 yards and two touchdowns, both to Parker Washington, who finished with six catches for 124 yards. Washington’s 27-yard score on fourth down gave the Jaguars a 16-14 lead before Little missed the extra point.

The Eagles played without leading rusher Saquon Barkley and top receiver DeVonta Smith while dealing with additional injuries along the offensive line. Jalen Carter recorded two sacks and two forced fumbles for Philadelphia, and Quinyon Mitchell intercepted Lawrence.

A crowd of 61,322, the largest for an NFL game at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, watched the contest. Jacksonville also overcame 13 penalties for 100 yards.

The late collapse continued a pattern of second-half struggles for Philadelphia, which scored only three points after intermission and punted on most of its possessions. The team now returns home facing a short week of preparation.
