At this point, every NFL fan should know how good the Philadelphia Eagles are going to be in 2025 based on what happened in New Orleans on February 9.
The sheer dominance shown not only in the Eagles' 40-22 win over the Kansas City Chiefs, but all season as the team finished 14-3. Philadelphia saw running back Saquon Barkley take home the Offensive Player of the Year award and quarterback Jalen Hurts win Super Bowl MVP.
Six Pro Bowlers later, the Eagles are back in 2025 and appear to be just as strong as they were last year. The only difference is that they are younger, which means more years of dominance on the field. There's no stopping this Eagles team this year, which is good reason for fans in 2025 to be excited about what's to come.
Pro Football Focus' Dalton Wasserman shared one reason why every NFL team should be optimistic about the 2025 campaign. It was pretty simple for the Eagles: the roster is filled with so much talent.
"Philadelphia ran roughshod through the NFL last season en route to its second Super Bowl victory. This year’s edition of the Eagles is poised to defend their title, returning 20 of their 25 players who led the team in snaps last season.
Their defense, which paced the NFL in PFF grade last season, took most of the damage but returns stars such as Jalen Carter, Zack Baun, Quinyon Mitchell and Cooper DeJean. The Eagles boast the best roster in the NFL heading into this season."
The defense went through the most turnover on the roster after losing Milton Williams, Brandon Graham, Bryce Huff, Darius Slay, James Bradberry, and C.J. Gardner-Johnson departed. It has opened the door for bench guys like Sydney Brown and Jalyx Hunt to take on bigger roles. Key guys like Jalen Carter, Jordan Davis, Nolan Smith Jr., Zack Baun, Quinyon Mitchell, Cooper DeJean, and Reed Blankenship are all back to dominate once again.
For the offense, the only significant difference is at the right guard position, where Tyler Steen appears to be the front-runner to take over. They still have Hurts, Barkley, A.J. Brown, DeVonta Smith, and Dallas Goedert holding down the fort. That doesn't include the loaded offensive line that include Jordan Mailata, Landon Dickerson, Lane Johnson, and Cam Jurgens.
It's clear how good this roster is, with the offense finishing in the top 10 and the defense finishing at the top last year. This is a young roster that is only going to continue to get better.
