For years, Micah Parsons had some great battles with the Philadelphia Eagles when he was a member of the Dallas Cowboys. Now that he is a member of the Green Bay Packers, most people would think that his commentary on the Eagles would stop, right?
Wrong.
Parsons has been vocal about his feelings on the Tush Push, speaking out during the Eagles' 34-17 loss to the New York Giants in Week 6 after Philly ran the play four times. He took to social media to say, "This is not football!"
Most people spoke out about that incredible moment by the Eagles, so he gets a pass for that. It didn't end there, though.
While speaking with the Packers media, Parsons was asked about the tweet he sent out about the Tush Push. He had a chance to leave it alone and move on to talk about something else. He didn't.
“You ask the Eagles offensive players, probably say that’s the best thing we’re doing on offense right now. It’s the most consistent thing they got, but that might come and bite me one day. It is what it is. I hate that play … you can’t stop it if they’re leaving early.”
There have been complaints about how the referees are handling the play, with missing false starts and offside calls on the Eagles when the Tush Push is run. Former referees in the media have talked about how the play is nearly impossible to officiate.
Well, the Pittsburgh Steelers lined up for the Tush Push against the Cincinnati Bengals, and they were called for a false start on fourth and one. Officials seemed to be on top of that, so is it an Eagles problem or a referee problem?
The NFL had a chance to ban the play last offseason, and they didn't. So, the best advice for the NFL teams and players who don't like it? Deal with it.
