Saquon Barkley is expected to play a pivotal role in the Philadelphia Eagles’ title defense this season. The All-Pro running back has been making waves in the early part of the NFL campaign. In seven games played, Barkley has already registered 113 carries for 369 yards and three rushing touchdowns. The 28-year-old has also caught 20 passes for one receiving TD.
On Sunday, Barkley helped lead Philadelphia to a 28-22 win against the Minnesota Vikings. It was a much-needed victory for the Eagles, who had suffered back-to-back losses to the Denver Broncos and the New York Giants entering their Week 7 matchup against Minnesota.
While Barkley has already established himself as one of the top running backs in the game, the former Penn State Nittany Lions standout has also done his part to give back and help the community. In 2020, the Eagles star established the Michael Ann & Saquon Barkley Hope Foundation, named in honor of his late grandmother, Michael Ann.
According to its website, the Michael Ann & Saquon Barkley Hope Foundation aims to “support underserved youth and families to achieve success in athletics and academics and to honor the determination and strength that shaped the Barkley family's own journey.” Their initiatives include educational and athletics programs, community outreach engagement, scholarships and grants, new housing solutions and multi-sport recreation centers.
Barkley’s foundation is hosting its inaugural black-tie event, the Hurdles for Hope Gala 2025, on Nov. 1 at the Philadelphia Museum of Art. To commemorate the philanthropic venture, it was announced on Tuesday that a limited edition merchandise drop is underway.
“The Art of the Cut drops Friday 10.24,” clothing brand 2SIX SPORTS posted on Instagram. “Proud to be the official merch for the Hurdles for Hope Gala ”
Barkley-branded hoodies and socks will be included in the upcoming drop, which, according to the post, will be available for preorder on Friday. Half of the proceeds will go to the Michael Ann & Saquon Barkley Hope Foundation.
This new merchandise will allow fans to support Barkley and his foundation while still looking stylish. According to the website, the hoodies are priced at $85 for the zip-up version and $55 for the youth sizes. The socks, available in black or green, are $22.
As for his football, Barkley will be back on the field with the Eagles on Sunday. It’s a rematch against the Giants, with Philly now hosting the matchup at Lincoln Financial Field. Kickoff for that game is scheduled at 1:00 p.m. ET.
