The Philadelphia Eagles dropped their Super Bowl LIX championship banner right before their 2025 NFL season opener against the Dallas Cowboys on Thursday night.

It was an exciting moment that head coach Nick Sirianni and his team chose not to watch happen.

"I didn't know it was banner night. We won't be out for that," Sirianni told reporters earlier in the week.

Philly's Super Bowl 59 banner marks the 17th banner hanging at Lincoln Financial Field alongside the Eagles' other championship seasons, division titles, and NFC championships.

Jalen Hurts Refuses to Wear Super Bowl Ring

Like coach, like quarterback?

The Eagles received their Super Bowl LIX ring back in July, a longer wait that was well worth it.

However, quarterback Jalen Hurts made it clear that he won't be wearing his new bling.

“I’ve moved on to the new year,” Hurts told reporters ahead of the Eagles’ first training camp practice on Wednesday, July 23. “It’s as simple as that.”

Eagles fans should be excited about that response, which subtly hints at Hurts looking ahead to another Super Bowl without saying it.

Hurts put on an outstanding show during the Super Bowl, throwing for 221 yards and two touchdowns en route to an Eagles’ historic 40-22 victory over the Kansas City Chiefs. This performance came after a regular season where he finished with 2,903 passing yards and 18 touchdowns, adding another 14 scores on the ground.

He'll look to match or exceed those numbers in 2025.
