Eagles star pass-rusher drawing considerable trade interest
Bill Streicher-USA TODAY Sports

Earlier this month, a report surfaced that Philadelphia Eagles edge rusher Haason Reddick requested a trade, but Reddick immediately refuted the news.

Well, here we are with free agency approaching, and Reddick has apparently been drawing considerable trade interest around the NFL.

According to Josina Anderson of CBS Sports, several teams have expressed interest in dealing for Reddick, who is entering the final year of his deal.

Eagles general manager Howie Roseman spoke about Reddick at the Scouting Combine this week and was rather diplomatic with his comments.

“Haason obviously [is] an unbelievable player for the Philadelphia Eagles,” Roseman said, via Charean Williams of Pro Football Talk. “Local kid, great success story — Camden, Temple, Philly. Love having Haason.”

But is Reddick on the trading block?

“I think that anything you’re trying to do, you’re trying to blend obviously what you’re trying to do this year and how you’re going to look in the future,” Roseman said. “I think that’s the hardest job. Certainly, [I] don’t want to get into any specifics with any conversations with players, but [I] have tremendous respect for the player and the person.”

So, it sounds like Reddick and Philadelphia’s front office have had conversations about a potential trade, regardless of what Reddick tries to say publicly.

Reddick is coming off of a 2023 campaign in which he played in every game and registered 38 tackles and 11 sacks. He tailed off considerably at the end of the season, as he logged just 2.5 sacks over his last seven contests.

The 29-year-old has spent the last two years of his career in Philly, including a monstrous 2022 campaign in which he racked up 49 tackles, 16 sacks, five forced fumbles and three fumble recoveries.

Reddick has made the Pro Bowl each of the last two seasons.
