Eagles WR A.J. Brown calls out Titans after Deebo Samuel signs extension

A.J. Brown has a lot to say these days. And when he is not defending Jalen Hurts from any critic who even looks at the quarterback the wrong way, the Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver is taking shots at his former team.

Brown took to social media on Sunday after the San Francisco 49ers signed Deebo Samuel to a three-year contract extension worth $71.55 million. Brown and Samuel are two of the four star wideouts from the 2019 NFL Draft class to get paid this summer -- D.K. Metcalf and Terry McLaurin are the other two -- but Brown is the only one who was traded from the team that drafted him in order to get paid. This distinction was clearly not lost on Brown as he called out the Tennessee Titans for making him look like the bad guy in that scenario.

"Yeah, keep believing it was me. Anywho Go Birds," Brown tweeted in what was an obvious dig at Tennessee.

The circumstances surrounding the Titans trading Brown on the first night of the 2022 NFL Draft are still a bit of a mystery. Brown himself claimed he wanted to stay in Nashville and that the Titans did not want to offer him $20 million per year, while other reports said Tennessee had in fact offered that money and that Brown had requested a trade. Brown eventually signed a four-year, $100 million extension with Philadelphia.

It is anyone's guess how much more time Brown will spend throwing shade on his former team -- although it could pick back up significantly when the Eagles play the Titans in December, especially if Philadelphia is having a better season than the Titans are.
