Eagles WR A.J. Brown: 'It's been personal' with Titans since trade

Since the April trade that sent A.J. Brown to the Philadelphia Eagles, the wideout has stayed relatively quiet about his former team, the Tennessee Titans.

However, following an electric performance against the Titans on Sunday, Brown cleared the air about the trade, perhaps sharing his true feelings for the first time.

"To be honest, it's been personal since the trade," Brown told reporters and The Athletic's Zach Berman. "I've been trying to keep it down. I stated that's where I wanted to be."

Even though Brown displayed an elite skill set over three seasons in Tennessee, the Titans decided against offering the one-time Pro Bowler a lucrative contract extension.

Instead, the Titans opted to trade him to the Eagles for two draft picks, including a 2022 first rounder which they used to select Treylon Burks, Brown's replacement.

On Sunday, Brown gave the Titans a bitter taste of what the team's missing, torching the team that drafted him for eight catches, 119 yards, and two touchdowns in a 35-10 thrashing of the Titans.

"This one meant a lot to me," Brown said. "I'd be lying to you to say I didn't circle this game."

Brown burnt the Titans' secondary on both of his scores Sunday.

In the second quarter, Brown caught Titans' corner Kristian Fulton biting on a double move before steamrolling him to get wide open.

Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts easily found Brown, who waltzed in for a 40-yard touchdown, breaking an early 7-7 tie.

With the Eagles up 21-10 in the third quarter, Brown essentially put the Titans away, snatching a perfect pass from Hurts for a 29-yard touchdown despite having cornerback Tre Avery draped all over him.
