Where does A.J. Brown rank among the best wide receivers in the league?

Eagles wide receiver A.J. Brown has elevated his level of play since joining the team in April. This makes us ask the question: how does he stack up to his fellow wide receivers this year?

For starters, Brown has hauled in 53 receptions, 831 yards and seven touchdown so far. As of this Week 13, Brown is eighth in receiving yards and tied for third in receiving touchdowns, per Pro Football Focus.

He leads the Eagles in receiving yards and touchdowns and is second in receptions behind only Devonta Smith, who has three more receptions than Brown (56).

Prior to the season, NFL.com's Jason McCourty, who won Super Bowl LIII with the New England Patriots and had a 13-year career in the NFL, ranked A.J. Brown at No. 9 on his article ranking the top wide outs in the game heading into the 2022 season.

When the Eagles traded for Brown on the first night of the draft and signed him to a four-year, $100 million contract with $57 million guaranteed, they knew they were getting a top-10 talent at the position. Since catching passes from quarterback Jalen Hurts, who is his good friend, Brown has seen his production skyrocket. He is on pace to have career highs in targets, catches, yards and touchdowns. Meanwhile, Hurts is a top-five MVP candidate this season.

Going from a run-heavy offense in Tennessee to a more balanced attack with the Eagles is one reason for his growth.

Brown has started to get the respect his stats command. He is the best overall wide receiver in the league, per FiveThirtyEight. Their website states that their ratings are updated weekly and are powered by NFL Next Gen Stats, and then rates players based on their performance from 0 to 99.

FiveThrityEight evaluates wide receivers based on their ability to get open, make the catch and their yards after the catch (YAC) ability.

Staying true to his twitter handle, Brown is No. 1 in the league at getting open and has a 97 overall in this field of play. He ranked third in YAC and 54 in making the catch. Overall, Brown is tied for second place with Stefon Diggs. Both players have an 89 overall. The top-five is rounded out with Tyreek Hill, Tyler Lockett and Justin Jefferson in that order.

Brown's No. 1 ranking comes after playing against the Green Bay Packers with a stomach bug, per Yahoo Sports. In an off-brand night for obvious reasons, Brown hauled in four catches for 46 yards and a touchdown.

Brown will continue his stellar season when the Eagles play his former team the Tennessee Titans this Sunday.
