Philadelphia Eagles wideouts A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith appeared on Kay Adams' "Up and Adams" podcast Wednesday to discuss a host of topics related to the team.
Among them was how for the second straight regular season, the Eagles struggled down the stretch before ultimately losing in the playoffs.
Following a 14-3 campaign in 2022, the group fell to the Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl LVII. Head coach Nick Sirianni's squad started the 2023 season 5-0 and 10-1 yet finished the year by dropping five of their final six entering the tournament.
They were routed on the road in the wild-card round by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, 32-9.
"We tried to stop the bleeding but we just ran out of time."

Like Philadelphia's pair of star pass-catchers did on Wednesday, retired former Eagles quarterback Donovan McNabb stood up for Sirianni in mid-January, saying that he deserved to keep his job. That's exactly what's happening, as both the head coach and general manager Howie Roseman conducted their regular end-of-season news conferences last week.
"I don't think he lost the team, I think we just had some things we needed to adjust to and we just didn't do that well as a team," Smith said. "I don't think he lost the team at all."
Sirianni received mass criticism from fans for the second consecutive disappointing ending and while he'll be back for the fall, a number of his colleagues will not, including recently fired defensive coordinator Sean Desai, senior defensive assistant Matt Patricia and offensive coordinator Brian Johnson.
For the third straight year, Philly will have new offensive and defensive coordinators, as Kellen Moore and Vic Fangio have been hired for those roles, respectively.
