Manning, a native of New Orleans, played all 16 of his NFL seasons with the Giants. He was drafted by the San Diego Chargers but refused to play for them and got traded to the Giants. He won two Super Bowls, defeating the Patriots in Super Bowl XLII and XLVI. Manning earned Super Bowl MVP honors in both victories. He remains one of only six players with multiple Super Bowl MVP awards.
After his retirement in January 2020, Manning reflected on his long career and shared the decision behind it.
"I might have rushed into (the decision) a little bit because I knew it was the right thing to do," Manning said, via the Giants. "I knew 100 percent I'm not going to have - I'm not going to regret this. When I make a decision, I commit to it and make it the right decision. This is it and this is the right one. It's an honor to have played here 16 years and to have only played here."
