Elijah Moore back with Jets, expected to be active vs Patriots in Week 8

The New York Jets improved to 5-2 on the season via Sunday's win at the Denver Broncos without having the services of wide receiver Elijah Moore, who requested a trade and was subsequently kept out of the Week 7 game.

Per the Jets' website, head coach Robert Saleh confirmed that Moore was back with the team Monday, is expected to return to the club's facility on Wednesday, and is on track to be active for this coming Sunday's home matchup against the New England Patriots.

Saleh previously insisted Moore won't be traded. That was before star rookie running back Breece Hall went down with a season-ending torn ACL during the 16-9 victory in Denver.

"I just don’t think this is the time to alienate Elijah," Saleh added about teammates reaching out to Moore amid the drama that began when the 22-year-old used Twitter to complain about not seeing a single official target in the team's win at the Green Bay Packers on Oct. 16. "He doesn’t need to be alienated from this organization. We love him. We think the world of him. We know what he can do from a football standpoint and how much he can help us. We just want to help him. We’re not alienating or moving him off to the side. No one is trying to turn the corner when they see him walking. We’re going to hit it straight on. He’s still part of this family, and family embraces one another in adversity. They don’t reject."

Moore recorded 16 catches for 203 yards and zero touchdowns over his first six games of the season before this past weekend. He was heavily criticized by former Jets coach and current ESPN personality Rex Ryan ahead of the Week 7 game against the Broncos:
