When a head coach leaves a program, the players on the team immediately have the opportunity to enter the transfer portal. One very interesting Tennessee State player has decided to take advantage of this rule by entering today. And he is already receiving offers:

With Eddie George now at Bowling Green, true freshman Sanders Ellis decided that it was also time for him to find a new home. This is after he finished his first collegiate season with 86 tackles, 15.5 tackles for loss, 2.5 sacks and three fumble recoveries, which earned him a spot as a finalist for the Jerry Rice Award, annually given to the top FCS freshman.

Considering Ellis’ production, size (6-foot-2 and 225-pounds) and athleticism, there was no doubt that he would immediately become a priority recruit. If anyone wasn’t sure of this, he quickly picked up offers from Virginia Tech and Purdue. Expect this list to grow quickly, before he decides on his official visits.

One lucky FBS program will add a very nice piece to their defense during the spring.
