Embarrassing Details About Shedeur Sanders Emerge from Browns Training Camp

Shedeur Sanders came into the NFL with sky-high expectations and not just from fans, but from his own camp, too. There was real buzz about him going No. 1 overall in the draft, and the Sanders family seemed confident the call was coming early.

But as the rounds rolled on and names were announced, Shedeur waited … and waited. Eventually, the Cleveland Browns took a flier on him in the fifth round at pick 144. Now, just when it looked like he might have a shot to prove everyone wrong, early reports out of Browns training camp suggest things aren’t exactly going his way — and the details trickling out are far from flattering.

According to Aaron Goldhammer of ESPN, Sanders is not throwing to his receivers in training camp, rather members of staff. He said in a recent podcast, “Shedeur Sanders apparently is throwing not to receivers but to equipment guys. They have got equipment guys snapping him the ball and then also running the routes. Mahomes is throwing to Kelce, Shedeur is throwing to equipment guys.”

The two speeding tickets he picked up in June might not be the best look for Shedeur Sanders, but they aren’t likely to hurt his chances of starting Week 1 for the Browns.

Head coach Kevin Stefanski said there’s no set plan yet for the QB spot, but he wants clarity sooner rather than later. Even if Sanders doesn’t land the starting gig, GM Andrew Berry made it clear there's still a solid chance he sticks on the roster.

The Browns are open to keeping all four quarterbacks — Sanders, Joe Flacco, Dillon Gabriel and Kenny Pickett — if they believe all of them are worth holding onto.
