The Kansas City Chiefs are attempting to make NFL history this postseason by becoming the first team in league history to win three Super Bowl titles in a row.
Ahead of the team's contest against the Houston Texans on Saturday afternoon, star tight end Travis Kelce delivered a message to his team - and Chiefs fans around the globe.
"Playoff football is the most meaningful football that you'll ever play in your life. I cherish every single play, man I really do. when you're in it, you're always trying to strive for greatness - being greater than what you are," he said in a video published Friday morning. "You know, obviously there's a historic run and something that we can achieve that no other team has ever achieved. You know that fuels you."
As he and the Chiefs prepare for their showdown on Saturday, ESPN, which is broadcasting the game, is doing the same. In a recent PR announcement, the network revealed Kelce is doing a sit-down interview with legendary ESPN personality Chris Berman to discuss his iconic career.
"An ESPN original and legendary NFL commentator Chris Berman sits down with Chiefs TE Travis Kelce to discuss what it means to be the 15 th player in NFL history to catch 1,000 passes and the vibe of the locker room as the team enters the postseason," ESPN said in a statement.
While his focus is on winning the game and making it to the AFC title game, Kelce is just a few steps away from NFL history. With three more receptions on Saturday against the Texans, he'll cross the 100 reception total for the seventh straight season - an NFL record.
Houston and Kansas City kick off at 4:30 p.m. EST on ESPN.
